Extremely unstable tripod. It can only be used indoors, because due to its unstable design it is unsuitable for outdoor use. There are two places for the battery on the lamp body, which are not included in the kit - nonsense!Everything about this light I love. For instance, I love the way both batteries mount at the bottom very cleanly and are not mounted on the back of the ring itself, keeping the ring narrower. Also, the frosted plastic front ring is one continuous piece that fits seamlessly. I love how sturdy the lower 5 plastic tabs are when they’re clamped, making for a more stable, less shaky camera mount. Being an Electrical Engineer, I love that the LED’s are driven from a constant current source. That makes total sense from a power, cooling perspective. All the LED modes are intuitive, and simple to access. I really have no particular need for a remote control since the on-board controls are so intuitive and quick to set. I did download the LED app to my iPhone, however, and it works great. I am exceedingly pleased with this light and am very glad I paid a little more for it, compared to some of the others I could have purchased. I’m also very pleased to be the 1st to review this light and complement the engineering that went into it. Thank you all so much for creating such a solid product that I find absolutely no fault in????This is a great light for users who are not professional but are looking to up their photography or vlogging abilities.I write the word "aspiring" because this light is perhaps one of the nicest lights you can get without going full scale towards professional-quality lighting.First, assembly: it is quick, easy, and simple. It took about two minutes to put together. The directions aren't fantastic, but there's very little to put together and it is rather intuitive. The light itself feels quite sturdy, the combination of plastic and metal parts that feel secure. While not as durable as professional equipment, this is of similar quality to other good ring lights I've found in the $100 that did not have nearly as much function and no color options.The light has two knobs, one for the tone of the color and one for brightness. While most lights have settings that you can click which will turn the light up to two or three preset levels with two or three preset tones, both of these knobs work on a sliding scale, allowing you a full range of every conceivable tone and brightness, from 0%-100% of it's power. far greater Precision than your standard ring light.The color options from the ring light are endless. The app allows you to choose from any point on a color wheel. Yet another level of customization that many other lights do not allow. You may also save lighting schemes that you like to use them at a later date for photographic continuity.My one knock against this product is that the app is not intuitive at all. At first it was a bit crazy making and because it didn't connect immediately I worried for several days that it did not work. There were no instructions for the app or in the app, and it is not user-friendly at all. If you are content to spend a lot of time fiddling and exploring the app functions, you will be fine with this light. But a guide for all of the many functions would have been so useful.If you are looking to up your photography or videography game, and have a mid-range budget, this is still a great ring light.LituFoto 19in. RGB Ring Light w-bluetooth remote appA solid 4-star 'large' ring light kit; not a fan of 'remotes via apps'... but otherwise an OK kitIronic that today I reviewed 3 uniquely different 18" to 19" Ring lights. And prices points went from $90, to $130, and here with the LituFoto Store Ring Light, $150. Satisfying to me was seeing a direct relationship between 'brand recognition', 'build quality' and 'features included.' In each review, I can account for the price point by valuing each of the cited 'review-rating-factors.'While the LituFoto brand isn't one with which I’m very familiar, I tried to look past that issue and focus on the features. To sample and test the light’s features, I started by using my intuitive skills. Seeing only a BRIGHTNESS and a COLOR TEMPERATURE knob, my presumption that depressing either one would give me the added RGB lighting. And it did. Because my prime use for a ring light is to encircle a smartphone or one of my cameras, I prefer to get RGB-based lighting effects from an added panel light. But not everyone will do that. And to recommend this light to someone who is looking for both photo-video infinite variable 3200k to 7500k lighting, plus all those RGB colors and effects, then I can say that I’d recommend you consider this light as your ‘all in one kit light.’ Another plus to this light is its dual-power-source capability. I ran my tests using a couple NP-F970s. That’s how I power all my recording area lighting. Most recording sessions are under 15 minutes, and two 970s on a low setting can last for quite a long time.My only issue with the kit was its REMOTE CONTROL APP… I prefer wireless direct remotes as many apps are problematic and while verified by some source... who knows if they're safe to use. (?) But then, the argument for an ‘app’ is that you don’t have to worry about losing or breaking a ‘proprietary remote control.’ So there are arguments on both side. Because of the app issue for me, and a price point that could be more competitive given the known and trust brands with which I'm familiar, I'm doing a solid 4-stars.Very bright and I love the colors that it can turn into, it doesn’t overheat and it is actually very sturdy even with the phone on it.
